Two more files are now identical across versions, so less things to patch. This patch allows updating from both the 1.0 and the 1.1 versions. I'm not actively playing TERA anymore, so if a new patch is out I might not know it. If a patch mentions adding new armors, then it's likely this patch has to be updated. Feel free to post a comment if that's the case.
Warning:
The patches are NOT compatible with any other de-censor/cutscene/voice patches you might have downloaded elsewhere. If you want to use these, make sure you have removed all the other versions before applying mine else you WILL break your TERA installation.

ReplyDeleteIf you just want to upgrade from 1.0 or 1.1, no need to uninstall. If you want to remove the patch, the uninstall.exe is in your TERA directory, in case you have not created start menu entries. You should see files like this:
Deleteunins000.exe
unins000.dat
unins001.exe
unins001.dat
etc. The unins000.exe is for unistalling the game, the rest are my patches. They even have my modified icon.
Sadly it doesn't seem to work for me.

ReplyDeleteThe patch affects all armors that are different between US+EU and KR+JP. If you see no difference on newer armors it just means they are the same across all versions. Best place to check if you installed the patch correctly would be the character creation screen or by equipping the lowest level Elin armor.

My patch only removes the difference between the clients. I heard something about the Korean client getting an update that censored some things, but that's no concern for me. All I want to achieve is eliminate regional differences.
DeleteThe patch you linked seems to require a .DLL that hooks into the tera process. Mine simply replaces the files after making a backup. It's possible that the patch uses older files to keep all the nipples uncensored, but imho if you want to see nipples, just use a nude mod. The armors are revealing enough already.

That's probably because others just copy all the files even though the majority of them are the same across regions. I only pack files that are different binary, by comparing their checksums first.

From what I remember, the GMs on the EU forums said that you can use them, but you will lose any support by doing that, so if you break your client, you're on your own.
DeleteAs for the version, it's not tied to the client version in any way, so some other person might have a patch titled 3.0 and have the same patching files as mine. Just don't mix patches from different people and it will be fine

EU/US has blood effects, you can make them visible by setting "lurid display" to 2 from what I remember (don't know the German name of the option)
DeleteI checked the files in the FX directory and they do differ, mainly in missing some hotfixes. But I don't think simply pasting them over will change anything as this was originally a setting in the UI.

Well, it looks like my installation somehow managed to fuck itself up and keeps downloading the latest patch, patching, restarting and downloading the same patch again.
DeleteIf you can make me a md5 checksum list of the TERA\Client\S1Game\CookedPC\Art_Data\Packages\CH\PC folder (for example using http://www.exactfile.com/), I could compare them to my JP installation and see if the patch needs an update.
Otherwise, I'm not going to waste my time redownloading and repatching a game I quit a long time ago, especially not one using that piece of screwed up excuse of a launcher the EU/US version uses.
I'm seriously asking myself why they didn't just keep the JP/KR patcher, which is worlds ahead when it comes to stability, speed and repair functions.

Hmm, you still seem to have the patch applied, there are backup files in that md5 list. So since you were able to patch without the patcher dying cause of file mismatch, it means the latest patch didn't touch any relevant files.
Delete-> the current version of the uncensoring patch is still up-to-date.
By the way Crim the way it happened to you with re-downloading the patch every time it happened to me until the day they applied the patch, then it stopped.

Hold your horses lol, I'm not giving up yet. My brother seems to has a TERA installation as well, I will try to patch that and see if it goes well. Then I can just copy it over and use it myself.

I verified the patch is up to date. That Elin armor looks the same on all versions, or at least it's that same for EU/US/JP

Heya, every time I try an de-censor patch, this included, the game crashes right before I reach the lobby-screen and gives me the FFFF:FFFF Fatal error message. Any idea what causes this? I've done a reinstall and applied your patch on a vanilla installation -> crash. Uninstalled your patch and it works fine again. Not saying it's a problem with your patch since it obviously works for other people, just wondering if you've had any experience with this in the past.
ReplyDeleteI remember someone having that problem but it was unrelated to my patch. TERA crashing on a vanilla (unpatched?) installation would be because the client expects lower version files. Basically, you have to be fully patched and not use any other uncensor mods, for example from other people.
DeleteHey Crim, when you have file source corrupted, the easiest way is to get the patched files from a uncorrupted source (eg, friends who have fully patched)

3. Let it run for a few minutes until you get applying patch and until the developer log freezes, you will get your error message there."

When you've replaced your corrupted files it should work fine. If you run into a looping update, check if your TERA directory is in C:\TERA instead of C:\xxx\TERA, at least that was the problem for me.

DeleteThe NA version recently changed the t14 Regent's/Conjunct/Visionmaker cloth to be censored with those ugly shorts. Just letting you know in case you plan to make another update.
ReplyDeleteAs long as the change is local, it shouldn't affect the patch. Some changes seem to happen globally, in that case my patch won't be able to uncensor it, since repacking those files is impossible. If I keep using the old version of the file, the game will crash because it won't be able to find armors added later on. (The only reason why updates are needed at all)
